Product Information

A rare pair of Hepplewhite Writing Armchairs in mahogany with curved shaped backs above square tapered legs finishing in an ogee foot, inset with a moulded inscised panel. The sweep of the back and the open arm were probably a concession to the extravagantly hooped dresses of the ladies of this period.  See page 173 of "English Furniture of the Eighteenth Century by Herbert Cescinsky Volume III for identical model. Covered in calico ready for a top cover of your choice. England Circa 1780.
